Intricacies of Mediumship And Why the Person Receiving the Reading is an Important Piece of the Puzzle

I am on a journey, as many of you are. Mine involves learning as much as I can about spirit communication and mediumship. Immersed in this journey, my soul purpose is where I live right now in my mind, my life. My happy place are my classes and workshops I take to learn more and experience spirit.

What is fascinating about all of this, is before class the teachers can set an intention with spirit of what they want the students to work on. And spirit delivers. What do I mean by this? Well for example we have practiced the spirit (loved one in spirit) starting with an environment and they do it! The medium will be guided through a farm or a house, or a place of work. Or we will start with the message, that then leads to the person in spirit.  Or the teacher can say we want females to come in or males. Spirit knows they are helping train mediums. And they listen. It's amazing to watch and learn how spirit follows the rules during a mediumship class and practice circle. 

It is absolutely amazing the different ways spirit communicates. It can also be very tricky! One thing spirit can do is change the point of reference or point of view. This is where the help of the person getting the reading comes in and this person is called in mediumship "the sitter".  The sitter is so important during a reading for so many reasons. Let me tell you how and why and give you an example.

Last night in circle, the medium was describing a man to me. And I was trying to make it fit with my dad in spirit. There were some things that totally resonated with his character and some that didn't. Do you know why? She was describing my husband first who is alive. And I was so focused on wanting to hear from my father that I missed that. And I know spirit can do this; it has happened to me many times. I was not being a helpful sitter! Spirit loves to describe someone in detail who is living first then they show themselves. And they do this because spirit comes through mediums to bring a message. They always have a timely important message and that is usually a big piece of the evidence. My dad was showing my husband because that is who the message was for. That point of reference change is very subtle at times and this is where the sitter can help by recognizing things or people in their current lives. This can help the medium follow along with spirit. 

Spirit can also come through at a younger point in their life, not right before they died. They may do this for many reasons including what is most helpful for the message or to discuss memories from that time period. Or one thing that can happen is two loved ones come in so closely their energy is blended! So, the medium might be getting characteristics of two grandmothers and not know it. 

The sitter is so important to help identify shifts. The energy of the sitter is also very important. The more open minded and positive the sitter helps the energy flow.  The loving open energy helps raise the vibration during the reading. One of the best readings I have had was with my son. Now some schools of thought say you cannot give relatives readings. Well that simply is not true in my experience. My son is very open and accepting and that was one of the strongest connections to spirit that I have had during a reading. The information flowed and spirit provided information that I wouldn't know about. Now, if you have a family member that doesn't believe in mediumship and wants to prove you wrong, that can definitely hinder the flow. I would encourage any sitter to come to a reading with a positive open heart, ready to listen and follow along. Keep an open mind, think about people in your life that are living as that could be who one of the messages is for. Think about in-laws, they can come in too! Often a sitter wants to hear from one particular person in spirit and I totally understand that. After my dad passed, I had a couple of mediumship readings and that is the only person I wanted to hear from and when the medium began describing someone else I kind of shut down. I am telling you to learn from me and not do that. Different loved ones in spirit come through at different times for different reasons. Who comes through at that time has been orchestrated in spirit before you even finished scheduling that reading! They know what's best, they are bringing a timely message. Never think that it's because the person you want to hear from doesn't want to come through or isn't with you. That is never the case! It is all about what you need in that moment! Or what someone in your life needs in that moment and they are trying to bring that message through the medium, through you to them!  Oh, and if you want to hear from a pet and wondering if they come through the answer is absolutely, read here! 

If you are going to have a reading the best way to prepare is to be happy and open and think about your loved ones in spirit you want to hear from. Be open minded, this helps with the flow of energy!
